Have a green thumb or enjoy the outdoors?
Or are you just looking for a way to meet fellow parishioners and beautify our surroundings? The SEAS Arbor Committee meets approximately once a month, Spring through Fall, in a group to tackle chores such as raking, weeding, planting shrubs and annuals and general grounds maintenance. We meet on Saturday mornings for about 2 hours. There are several ways you can get involved:
1. Volunteer your time
Attend a Saturday work session. Work sessions are generally planned one week in advance, tailored to the weather and season, and emails are sent to all committee members. Those who can attend, do. Those that cannot, there is always another Saturday coming up. Sign up for our email list, and you will be notified about our upcoming sessions.
2. Volunteer to “Adopt a Garden Area”
This work can be done alone, partnered with another SEAS Parishioner, or perhaps with family members. It is also a great way to get service hours for teens. Contact the Arbor Chairperson to determine an area of interest, and discuss a plan to maintain that area, to include weeding, watering and planting (plants will be provided). This work is done on your schedule, and on an as-needed basis. General commitment is about 1 hour every 2 weeks and can be done in the evenings or weekends as your schedule allows. Come join the SEAS Green Team and do some Gardening for God!
