Welcome to the Choir! Thank you for offering your God-given talents and time to the parish!
The Traditional Choir leads the music regularly at the 10:45 Sunday Mass from the 2nd Sunday of September through the Solemnity of Corpus Christi (June 22, 2025).
The musical goal of the choir is to lead the congregation in the enthusiastic singing of traditional hymnody (ie Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee or Holy God We Praise Thy Name) and the performance of choral selections to bring an even greater level of contemplative beauty to the Mass.
In participating in the choir, you can expect to:
- Have a space for your charism of and love for music to flourish among like-minded individuals
- Be part of a community that cares for the spiritual and emotional enrichment of its members
- Most importantly – you can offer Praise to God in a way that only you uniquely can by using your gifts in assisting at the most important thing on Earth – the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass!
Expectations for members:
- Attend the rehearsals consistently with a joyful and hard-working attitude
- Put in any necessary work to practice the music outside of rehearsal
- Give your best, be prayerful, attentive, and appropriately attired at Mass remembering that we are here to lead the congregation in our collective praise to the Almighty!

Please communicate any absences to either Mass or rehearsal to Carter Stevens as soon as you know you will have to miss.
Rehearsal Expectations:
– Be focused at rehearsal, arrive on time with your music, ask questions, ask to hear difficult parts over again – whatever you need to give your personal best on Sunday!
– Be encouraging to those whose skills are less developed than yours as we help them unlock their talents.
– Be appropriately attired for Mass in concert black (Men, this means black slacks and a black button down. Jacket is optional. Ladies, please wear pants or at least knee-length dresses and for both: please wear professional shoes – no sneakers/flip-flops, etc. Liturgical accent colors (ties, necklaces etc.) are great.
– Drinking lots of water while singing is encouraged. Albeit, to maintain a reverent atmosphere at Mass please choose discrete, professional-looking containers for your water – ie no goofy images, loud text, etc., and no crinkly plastic water bottles that will be heard.
In the same way that we expect our Church building to be well-functioning and clean, we will present our best efforts at the Masses and liturgies in order to give Praise and build up the hearts of our brothers and sisters so that they are refreshed and enriched as they go forth to build the kingdom during the week!
