Gardening for God!
Have a green thumb or enjoy the outdoors? The Seton Lake Ridge Arbor Committee is passionate about regularly maintaining our parish grounds and ensuring that our Church’s surroundings are always beautiful and well-kept. Meeting once a month, Spring through Fall, the Arbor Committee tackles several responsibilities such as raking, weeding, planting shrubs, and annual/general grounds maintenance. Even if you do not have a green thumb, but share our same passion and vision for maintaining the Church’s grounds there are several ways you can be involved!
1. Volunteer Your Time
Attend a Saturday work session! Work sessions are 2 hours long and are generally planned one week in advance tailored to the weather and season. Emails are sent out regularly to all committee members for reminders and updates. If you miss a Saturday session, you are always welcome to attend the next one! To join our email list, please contact Janet Coxe at 703-494-4008.
2. Adopt a Garden Area
When you adopt a garden area you will be in charge of that specific area’s regular maintenance! You can adopt on your own, with another parishioner, or with family members. If you are interested, please contact the Arbor Chairperson to determine an area of interest and discuss a maintenance plan to include weeding, watering, and planting (plants provided). The work is done on your own schedule and on an as-needed basis. General commitment is 1 hour every 2 weeks and can be done in the evenings or weekends as your schedule allows.
