Sacraments of the Catholic Church

The Sacraments are visible signs of God’s invisible grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church. They are powerful encounters with the living God that strengthen us on our journey of faith. The Catholic Church celebrates seven Sacraments, grouped into three categories:

  1. Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist
  2. Sacraments of Healing: Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick
  3. Sacraments of Vocation: Matrimony and Holy Orders
