Rite of Christian Initiation for CHILDREN

Children who have not been baptized or have been baptized in another Christian denomination, would take part in the RCIA for Children as they will either be baptized into the Catholic Church or make a Profession of Faith into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil, and receive the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.

The RCIA for Children is not only a “class”, but a process whereby the children are made to feel part of the parish family. These children must be attending Mass on Sunday in order to prepare fully for the reception of the sacraments.

Five and six year olds who have never been baptized and would like to be baptized into the Catholic faith would attend a regular Kindergarten or 1st grade RE class, beginning in September. Parents would attend a baptism workshop and their child would be baptized at a scheduled time.

If you would like more information or would like to enroll your child in the RCIA for Children for the coming year (we begin with a half hour family meeting over the summer), please call Kris Fischer.
