What is Easter?

The feast of all feasts, Easter is a 50-day celebration of Christ’s victory over death, which is at the very heart of our faith:

If Christ has not been raised, then empty is our preaching; empty, too, is your faith.” (1 Cor 15:14).

The season concludes with the descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, which sends us into Ordinary Time. The liturgical color is white, though for certain celebrations gold or silver is incorporated.
